This quote is from General Lee Butler, former head of the US Strategic Command:
...we escaped the Cold War without a nuclear holocaust by some combination of skill, luck and divine intervention, and I suspect the latter in greatest proportion.The quote was included in an article I read back in June, but it was originally delivered in a speech by Butler in 1999.
